At My Learning Mate, we aim to provide a seamless and satisfying learning experience for every student and teacher. This Refund & Cancellation Policy outlines how cancellations, rescheduling, and refunds are managed for all services booked through our platform across the USA, UK, Australia, and India.

By using our platform and booking any session or course, you agree to the terms described below.

1. Booking & Confirmation

  • All sessions (one-on-one, group, or course-based) must be booked through the My Learning Mate platform.
  • A booking is considered confirmed once payment is successfully processed, and both the Teacher and Student receive an official confirmation email or platform notification.
  • Teachers are responsible for being available at the confirmed date and time; Students are responsible for ensuring their attendance and connectivity.

2. Cancellation by Students

a. Individual Session Bookings
  • Cancellations made more than 24 hours before the scheduled start time:
    → Eligible for a 100% refund or free reschedule (no penalty).
  • Cancellations made within 24 hours of the session:
    → Eligible for 50% refund or partial credit (at My Learning Mate’s discretion).
  • No-shows (failure to attend without notice):
    → No refund will be issued.
b. Multi-Session Packages / Courses
  • Refunds for partially used packages will be pro-rated based on completed sessions, minus a small administrative fee (up to 10%).
  • If a student cancels before the start of a course, a full refund will be issued (less any processing fees, if applicable).

3. Cancellation by Teachers

  • Teachers must provide at least 24 hours’ notice if unable to conduct a scheduled session.
  • If a teacher cancels a confirmed session:
    → The student may choose between a full refund or a rescheduled session at no additional cost.
  • Repeated last-minute cancellations by teachers may result in review or suspension of their teaching account.

4. Rescheduling Policy

  • Both students and teachers may reschedule a session once free of charge, provided notice is given at least 24 hours before the session.
  • Additional reschedule requests or late changes may incur an administrative fee or loss of eligibility for a refund.

5. Technical Issues

  • If a session is disrupted due to a platform or technical issue on the part of My Learning Mate (e.g., server failure), a free reschedule or full refund will be offered.
  • If technical issues occur due to a user’s internet connection, hardware, or software problems, no refund will be issued.

6. Disputes & Resolution

  • Refund disputes must be raised within 7 days of the session date via our Support channel.
  • We may request supporting evidence (e.g., screenshots, communication logs).
  • Disputes will be resolved within 10 business days, and all decisions by My Learning Mate will be final.

7. Region-Specific Compliance

United States
  • Refunds comply with applicable federal and state consumer protection laws.
  • Certain states (e.g., California, New York) grant additional consumer refund rights for online educational services.
  • Refunds are processed to the original payment method within 10–15 business days.
United Kingdom
  • Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, students may cancel within 14 days of purchase for a full refund, unless the service (course/session) has already started.
  • Any cancellations after the service has begun are subject to the general terms above.
Australia
  • Refunds are provided in accordance with the Australian Consumer Law (ACL), which guarantees that services must be delivered with due care and skill.
  • Students may be entitled to a refund or replacement if a service is not provided as promised or fails to meet consumer guarantees.
  • Refunds will be processed within 10 business days.
India
  • Refunds will comply with the Consumer Protection Act 2019 and the Information Technology Act 2000.
  • Refunds will be initiated to the original mode of payment within 7–10 business days of approval.
  • In case of any dispute, resolution will be governed by Indian contract law and applicable IT Rules.

8. Non-Refundable Items

Refunds are not available for:

  • Completed sessions.
  • Promotional or discounted packages unless otherwise stated.
  • Administrative or platform service fees.
  • Gift cards or credits purchased through the platform.

9. Processing of Refunds

  • All approved refunds will be issued to the original method of payment used during booking.
  • Depending on your payment provider, it may take 5–15 business days for the amount to reflect in your account.
  • Transaction or processing fees from third-party payment gateways may not be refundable.

10. Amendments to Policy

We may revise or update this Refund & Cancellation Policy from time to time to reflect business, regulatory, or operational changes. Updated versions will be posted on our website, and the effective date will be indicated above.
